X Factor finalist and former pupil Samantha Lavery visited St Leonard’s earlier this week and proved a big hit with staff and pupils alike. Samantha was heading off to fulfil one of her engagements in the region on her busy schedule and we are delighted that she popped in to catch up. It was wonderful hearing some of her stories about how X Factor is changing her life and it is great to see that she’s taking the positive aspects of her experience and making plans for the future. She wished it to be known that she is extremely grateful for all of the messages of support and of course votes for her performances on the show.
Samantha was taken aback by the reaction she received, particularly from the younger pupils, requesting autographs and chats and she was disappointed that she couldn’t spend more time with us. We will continue our links with Samantha and it’s clear that we have certainly not heard the last of her journey!
